Exercise at Home

One thing that may hold people back from exercising is the fee that goes along with a gym. I understand that gym memberships are costly and so are exercise machines that you can buy for your home. The thing is, you can get a lot of exercise in without going to the gym. I found a youtube video that gives you a workout you can do pretty much anywhere. You can find a lot of videos on youtube that will give you good workout ideas. Also, it is not that costly to go out and buy a workout video. They are inexpensive and usually have full workouts you can follow right from your living room.

The only downside to workout out at your home or anywhere besides the gym is lack of motivation. When you are at the gym and see everyone around you working hard, it motivates you to work harder. If you are on your own, all the motivation is up to you. If you do not feel like working out, you won’t. Atmosphere plays a big role in exercising in my opinion. But if you do not want to waste money on a gym, be prepared to push yourself in order to exercise.

Exercise Plan

I have a good idea that might help you get a jump start on exercising. It is a website that will plan out an exercise plan for you. It is very beneficial to start off like this. A lot of people do not know where to start when they decide they want to begin exercising.

If you go to this site, then you will be able to get a set plan and know exactly what kind of schedule to follow. Also, if you want to lose weight, you should try to find a site that will plan out a nutrition plan for you. It is very important for you to eat healthy when you exercise if you are working to lose weight.

At the gym….

I think that its really hard to motivate yourself to go to the gym. That is why when I go, I like to keep it short and move around a lot to different machines. If you are a women like me, it is better to do a little bit of exercise on every part of the body every time you work out.

For guys, they usually lift one area of their body hard one day, then skip it the next. To get toned, women should not be lifting extremely heavy weights, but lighter ones that they are able to do a lot of repetitions of. If you are anything like me, you hate cardio, so I would suggest doing like 15 minutes of cardio, probably running to get your heart rate up, and then do some weights for everything like arms legs abs back and chest. If you keep it balanced and can stick to doing this kind of routine like 4 to 5 times a week, you should definitely see some results after about a month. What is frustrating about working out is not seeing results right away. You need to be patient and be able to keep up with the gym or it won’t do you any good at all.

Prevent Colon Cancer

I was surprised when I read in an article that exercising is more important than giving up red meat and alcohol when it comes to reducing your risk of colon cancer.  Apparently, a new study was conducted which looked at more than 100 previous studies on colon cancer risk factors, and concluded that exercising and not smoking play major roles in reducing your risk for colon cancer.  For you to understand the article better, I thought these few lines summarized it pretty well, “Overall, researchers found, high intake of red and processed meats, smoking, obesity and diabetes were all linked to a 20 percent increase in the risk of colorectal cancer. In contrast, people who exercised the most had a 20 percent lower risk of the disease than their sedentary counterparts.”

The article states that the colorectal cancer is a lifestyle disease.  There are things people can do to greatly reduce their risk of getting colon cancer, and a great deal of it has to do with exercising, quitting smoking, not drinking, and the list goes on.  I was happy that I came upon this article because now I know that even though colon cancer can be a hereditary disease, there are many steps everyone can take to reduce their risks.  I was unaware that exercising could have such a big effect on whether or not you could get colon cancer.  This information is said to be new but I believe it.  Do you guys find this information believable?  Or do you think that cutting out red meat and alcohol consumption is a better road to take when trying to reduce your risk of getting colon cancer?

How to Lose Weight

I am going to give you a little secret that will help you finally understand why it is so hard to lose weight. One of the most misunderstood things is that you need to stop eating to lose weight, or eat less meals. This theory is wrong. In order to lose weight you need to eat very well balanced meals frequently.

You should not cut out meals if you want to lose weight. Nor should you try fad diets like atkins where you cut out carbs. You need nutrients from all different food groups. If you only eat one thing like all protein, although you might lose weight at first, you may be setting yourself up for health problems later in life. So trust me, if you want to lose weight, exercise and eat a very healthy diet that includes foods from every food group.
